The Company started in 1979 as Window Machinery Sales Limited. The operation sold Glass and PVCu machinery to fabricators in the then new UPVc window and door marketplace. One of the original founders was David Stockton-Chalk and within months of starting the Company Derek Bonnard had joined the operation. The Company initially started as a reseller of machinery manufactured in Germany by Wegoma gmbh. This very quickly changed with Window Machinery Sales who created relationships with Italian manufacturers who produced the complete range of PVCu window manufacturing machinery to a high UK specification. These trading relationships have continued very successfully right through to the present day.
In 1991 David and Derek felt that the machinery focus was being lost from the core operation so they amicably left the Group June of that year with the machinery company creating a new headquarters based in the midlands.
In 1993 the trading name was changed to Promac ("Professional Machinery") because the historical name was dated in terms of the new automated machinery that major fabricators in the UK were now investing in.
The Company is the UK market leader in the supply of machinery to not only the UPVc fabrication marketplace but there are two substantial specialist operations that supply into the Industrial and Glass sectors.
The Company has a turnkey operation creating factory layouts, supplying, installing and commissioning machinery, maintaining equipment, which includes all the ancillary products and spare parts.
Promac is a Private Limited Company with a real family atmosphere. All the staff are directly employed, a number of which have not only long service but high technical skill levels linked to real experience in the Industry. Our customer base reads like a who’s who of Fenestration.
