Emmegi have recently upgraded the successful Comet range of CNC machining centres for aluminium.
The machine is now available as a Comet T4 short bed machine (4000mm) and a Comet T6 long bed machine (7700mm), fully guarded or optionally, fully soundproofed. Clamping of the profiles is fully automatic, either by the machine’s head, separate axes or an individually motorised system. The machine can perform various operations on all faces of the profiles without the need for the operator to manually turn the profile, and feeds and speeds are increased from the previous model giving shorter machining times. Graphical windows based programming makes it simple to add new programs to the machines, and links to all major external software companies are already in place.
Recent installations of the upgraded machines at Douglas Commercial Fabricators in Cannock and Door Systems Design in Bradford have proved a great success, with both companies reporting huge time and labour savings over their existing machinery.
Chris Jones, MD of Door Systems Designs, commented “We looked at all the competitors’ machinery on our initial purchase of our old Emmegi Comet CNC and we were really sold on the software, build quality and soundproofing of the Emmegi machine. Promac proved over the last 3 years that they could provide the correct technical support and service backup. This was proven when we needed a second machine, and no other machinery supplier was even contacted. The new Comet T6 has surpassed all our expectations and I would thoroughly recommend this machine to anyone without hesitation.”
